Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 36 (the “District”) is a conservation and reclamation district of the State of Texas, created by an Order of the Texas Water Rights Commission (predecessor to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality), dated September 12, 1972. The District operates pursuant to Chapters 49 and 54 of the Texas Water Code, as amended. The District consists of approximately 660 acres of land and provides service to approximately 350 connections.

The District is located in Harris County, approximately 20 miles north-northwest of the Central Downtown Business District of the City of Houston. The District is located east of I-45 North, south of E Richey Road and is approximately 12 miles west of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The District is located entirely within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston and within the boundaries of the Spring Independent School District.
